What can I expect during my first visit?

You can expect to complete a full medical history questionnaire and “new patient” paperwork.

You will then consult with Dr Sooley. This consultation is your opportunity to discuss your health concerns and past health history with the doctor.

A physical exam will be performed which may include orthopedic testing, reflex assessments, muscle testing, and a specific chiropractic evaluation. X-rays may be necessary to determine an exact diagnosis. X-rays can be done right at the office. Typically, this process takes approximately 45 minutes.  In order to have time to give your case a thorough study, Dr Sooley will go over the results of the exam and x-rays with you on a follow-up visit.

At that point, depending on the results of your examination, Dr Sooley will explain your results and determine how you should proceed.  He may recommend a specific “test” adjustment, begin passive forms of physical therapy, or a trial of acupuncture.   If you are unfamiliar with chiropractic procedures, you may wonder if any of these approaches will be uncomfortablel.  Typically, none of them are.  However, you may feel some discomfort with the test adjustment until the pressure in the joint is relieved.

For most, follow-up will be necessary.  Dr Sooley will work with you on an individual basis to offer the highest level of service and to recommend the best that chiropractic care has to offer for your present and future health challenges.
